| Your character has been taken from their home world, with their memories, and been ported directly into a copy of The Oregon Trail video game alongside other characters. Their fate has been placed into the hands of an all-mighty and faceless master player, who pulls the strings and directs their wagon train with a nerdy malice across the treacherous terrain of the Oregon trail. However, your character does not know this. All they know is that they've woken up in a dusty wagon alongside some complete strangers by the howling of exhausted oxen and, for some strange reason, they're in 1800s America. With a rather high-tech communicator slapped 'round their wrist that seems like it ought to be a tool of the 23rd century!… waaaait a minute. Something's weird here. Your characters will be trekking along this trail with others for several months, pausing occasionally to barter for food, hunt buffalo, take wagon circle breaks, etc. This will continue for the length of roughly four months real time, when the game will reset as Naruto falls ill with dysentery, Bruce Wayne is unable to ford a river, their wagon drowns everyone and maybe Alucard is the only immortal jerk to actually make it to Oregon. Characters will die, but the game will 'reset' itself at the beginning of that new month, during which the characters will — having kept their in-game memories — begin their travels to Oregon once again and the shenanigans can once again ensue. Well, that's weird. Maybe all will become clear soon! Maybe. |
